Landicity is building a new and innovative Experiential Conservation Internet Platform in which members have a say, have a vote and through our Landicity Steward Membership Deeds can afford (
as
we say, less than the cost of a pizza and movie!) a unique member-ownership-stakeholder position in a Maine Island and possibly large tracts of undeveloped, pristine wild lands - but "
with a twist."
As a purchasing member
YOU will assist in creating and defining the easement and sustainable community - a community engaged in a new type of experiential conservation. Our (and your) approach is unlike other non-profit (we are for profit) and conservation easement holders. The primary difference is that you, the internet community members and the local community help decide and vote on the sustainable issues and what and how to place land in an open and transparent easement. You also adopt a real geographic "Sister Community" while we all conserve nature, the island, the resources as well as the economic viability of the Sister Community. The island is extremely critical to the local community as well as to you and our resources.
You, as a group, are more talented, have better ideas, and can add member-centric and member needed improvements to our model as well as the technical aspects of the site. For example, we fully intend to "sensorize" all aspects of the island and community. Our membership will have individuals expert in small cameras, stereo streaming audio as well as environmental, biological, ecological and ocean water sensors and measuring devices that all can be web-enabled and managed for all our benefit. Individuals will have a depth of understanding - say a good way to provide solar, geothermal, wind, wave and other forms of sustainable power should it be needed on the island for watching and learning from our sensors. We hope to engage an edutainment family plan so kids and parents can have fun learning, watching sensors and videos and watching the seasons of the island the local community.
We will need assistance developing the best fit technology for remote communications, uplink and broadcast up to the internet (
remember, this is Maine and you do not get internet and/cell coverage in probably 75% of the geographic state!).
We are not dummies in many of these areas, but individuals who do become members are much smarter and can help the group, nature and the local community. We fully expect the international individuals to provide unique and well rounded perspectives as well.

We have a Maine Island identified and with an owner willing to use an Option to Purchase so we can get started while saving the island from development.

Once we conclude the Option To Purchase the offshore Maine Island, we transfer Landicity Steward Membership Deeds from the pilot to the island.

During the Option Period and after enough individuals purchase the Maine Island Landicity Steward Membership Deed we immediately exercise our option and purchase the island outright.

We again transfer and issue revised and new Maine Island Landicity Steward Membership Deeds, all free of charge.

As A Landicity Member You May:
- Build an experiential conservation community with an ownership stake
- Decide how best to sustainably manage the island and our newly founded "Sister Community"
- Recommend a Friend provides money for funds
- Vote to donate money (from the Landicity Fund) to various nature, ecology, community funds, and non-profits aligned with the Landicity Vision & Mission
- Maintain open and transparent conservation area easement
- Help determine sustainable management for the benefit of community, nature, and the land
- May receive 'products off the land' (wreath, maple sugar, plant a tree) as part of sustainable management
- Help build content - profiles, sharing, photos, stories, web cams, sensors, audio capture, info about animals and habitat and niche products you may want members to purchase
- Help determine the next state, country, island or other wow and unique tracts we should keep undeveloped
